Hi guys, I am Suvodip from Kolkata (Calcutta), India. I have a few queries.

1)I would like to immigrate to another country (not USA) in the future. Would ACCA give me
a decent job in the new country. I mean how easay is it to geet a job abroad like UK, Austrailia, Canada, Singapore and all.

2)I, at the moment dont know anyone aroundme who is doing ACCA, all into CA. So I wanted to know
how to go about studying, P.S my level one is exepmt coz i have done useless B.Com (HONS). The coaching
classes here take INR 8000 per paper (91 GB Pounds) is it costly or the standard?

3)ACCA is NOT AT ALL known in INDIA, very few might know it. So at the moment I dont know where to get the books. Does anyone here know if I can get booklet scans :D Also, the booklets are very costly, well if I buy booklets, I wouldnt be able to afford coaching.

4)The other day I saw some one talking abt internship for ACCA(similar to CA articleship). Is it mandatory? How do I go abt it??

Hopefully I ahve bored you guys, but need the info coz i dont know ANYONE here. So u guys only hope 8)

Suv we are all friends and collegues here so chill man, oky

1-you can get a job anywhere you want it all depends upon your skills and demands of your employer, remember acca will get you in front but it is up to you to deliver the goods, plus in paper options go for international stream that way you will be more flexible..

2-yea it is a bit high but if you think you need tution then go for it,besides you will then find people in your area who are in Acca..

3-Once you enroll in a tution center they will most probably provide you with the study text and notes. ;) if not then
so you need books..well we were discussing scanned study texts and uploading them..well lets see what develops, keep your fingers crossed

4-Hmm articles is not necessary, you can do a job in the finance sector and gain experience that is their requirment for 3 years.but you will gain more experience in articles and thus more value as your CA counterparts do articles for a reason, being necessary and polishing their skills as they visit clients and face new situations to tackle and solve.

any questions you have feel free to holler and we will help you out.

take care :)

It really depends on what they are offering you.
I think you will buy your own textbook and revision kits then what they could offer is just notes and for notes only its little costly.

ok, i am so damn peeved. i called up a person here who suppositly teaches acca that too not formal as yet. he show an enormous "no care" attitude and blew me off saying call up after 3- 4 days, will see if i teach.

so what i was wondering is IF i buy the booklets or get it frm somewhere and get the revision kits...
IS IT possible to pass the level 2 papers by just studying the booklets? I mean, I am ready to put in hardwork
as ACCA is a big reward in itself. Just asking whether it wud be foolish and whether anyone has done it before.

Welcome to acca forums

Currently i don't have any figure but i can say with firm belief that good percentage of ACCA students rely on self study only or in other words they do not join any teaching institute.

ACCA textbooks are written specially in a way to support and provide full help to students who do self study.

I encourage you to do it and join recognized audit firm in your area for practical experience then every thing would get easy for you.

Good Luck!
