This is a wonderful place to ask from international student of ACCA about which Study Text is most valuable for preparation of exams.Here in Lahore Pakistan BPP and Foulks Lynch is most widely used though there are one or two another publishers.
Kindly suggest me one which you think is most valuable.

I would recommend BPP as per my experience and use its revision kits as well.

Yes i have purchased BPP Text Books it looks nice.But here in my city most students are following Foulk Lynchs and there is general perception that FL helps you in scoring good marks.I don't whether it's right or not..

Asslamoalaikum ....Well i would like to say you should try to consult with your teachers for the selection of . Well i am doing my first two papers of ACCA from FTC Texts books.But i think BPP are also good because my teachers said they consult with BPP as well during preparing the lecture n they have advised us to used BPP kit also for better Practice...well i will advise ya to study BPP but do practice from Both kits BPP n FTC..it would be good for ya..

Are you studying from any institute ?

There is very simple formula i apply that is read the topic one by one from each book.It will give you better understanding of the topic.

Mariam I am from Faisalabad and study myself never taken any coaching.But i have genuine problem that in my city mostly institutes are bogus.
But you are in Lahore and you must take into consideration well known institutes like SKANS and others.

I have started to study myself and i have no time for going to take classes.Here in Lahore nearly 50% go to colleges and small campuses to study ACCA and other half just stay home and most of them try to have some group discussion with other self help students.I have few friends those go to institutes but they all say few teachers have full grip in their subjects while others have no idea what they are teaching about.

Well I am preparing first two papers without any coaching (*am i cricketer :D)
1.1 in International Stream ( Preparing Financial Statement )
1.2 Financial Information for Management

second one seems to be easy but 1.1 is little harder but i am experiementing with self study first time in my life.But i am hopeful Insha Allah things will get easy soon.



Bogus institutes are everywhere here in Lahore there are lot of dumb institutes.But the way BPP has written Study Texts student friendly has made problems very less.So currently everything is going fine without any classes but let's see what happen next :) .

BPP Study Text is best written for self study.

If you are doing CBE then you must have good practice of Revision Kit and deep study of text books.And both FL and BPP are equally important.

BPP study text is best written.

Ardan as i was exempted for Part 1 of ACCA due to CAT.But i sat in CBT for CAT and i experienced its more tough than written exam because of multiple similar choices.So i would advise to do as much practice of CBE as possible.

BPP is best of the best FL is not written for me :oops:

Actually both have little different approach towards students because BPP study text was written specially with slogan of "Help yourself for your ACCA exams" and on other hand FL is authorised publisher and approached by institutions and teachers.

I’m new here I was searching in google for the recommended books for ACCA and I couldn’t find an answer but fortunately I found this forum,
I finished part 1 from ACCA with studying from BBP, BBP books are very long and detailed and they r full of revision questions which really helped me though the studying but now the center I’m studying in is changing form BBP to FTC.
I was wondering is FTC as good as BBP, did any one here study from FTC, and how did you find it?

BPP is undisputed KING.

It all depends on your personal attachment to the style of study text publishers.I like BPP because its comprehensive and an easy written.

I like BPP for most of the papers but ftc study text of paper 2.2 Business Law was more useful than BPP study text.In my conclusion check both study texts and then decide for each paper individually.

So far BPP study text and ftc revesion kits are helpful for me.

AS per my seniors in Pak,Uk & teachers here in college..some BPP text are good for sum papers & in sum cases FTC but dere is no match of BPP kits ! I like to prepare wth ths sequence for exam:-

- Text throughly 2-3 times..
- Revision Kits.
- Past Papers....

If sum1 has complain abt teachers,should search on induvidual basis & if he/she can prepare it wth self study coz every1 knw abt his/herself.
