ACCA suitable?

After graduating with BA, I did 2 jobs in the span of 4 years. First, bank sales and thereafter frontline role in energy market.
I am currently out of job market for about 1 year because I relocated to another country following my husband's posting by his company.
I will very much like to work but it's been quite tough getting a job in a foreign land (the UK). Since I am not working now, I thought of using my time effectively to brand myself and take up ACCA for my future career plan instead of idling away and make my CV look bad.
The BA degree I have qualifies me for the professional scheme. However, I have 2 considerations:

1) I am currently 27, by the time I complete the course, I will be 29, nearing 30. Will I lost out to younger students in terms of applying for jobs into the Big 5 or MNCs? I don't mind starting from entry level again as I know I do not have relevant work experience.

2) My CV does not look good because the 2 jobs I did after graduation were unrelated. I do not want to spend 2 years studying for it full time to find that I still have difficulty finding a job because I am out of the job market for too long or because I am too old for an entry level position.

Why you don't put your time in caring your family and kids ?

ok its not my business.

I think accounting is not all about books and corporate experience it also counts your life expereiences so in my opinion younger students would definately get seniors to you but if you like this way then there is no problem.

my suggestion:
why not you try any other field specially something more socially connected ?

I can imagine what you are talking about, there are few suggestion which i would like to pour in:

firstly go for a masters degree, which will eventually lead you to do a better job with a better status and then to glorify your CV and your job position you can do ACCA..

If you are free ( no kids or whatsoever) you can pull off a masters degree as well as do a job?

in this way you will save time as well as earn another degree, which will beneficial for both your career n satisfy you as well

Thanks for your replies.

I regretted not looking into MBA programs earlier, and had missed the deadline for this year recruitment.
Recruitments round will start again next year and school will only commerce next year Sep.
Unless I have a job now, it will be difficult to explain my gap in employment when I apply for any MBA schools.
Intake of students depend not only on GMAT scores but also work experience too.

It is with great regret that I have to rule out MBA programs. (unless i get a job, fingers crossed still)
