As per my knowledge CIMA and ACCA both have same recognition in Middle East, UK and Pakistan. The course contents of both bodies are also similar to each other. So, in my opinion CIMA after ACCA will not serve your cause to a great deal and it will only increase a degree name in your portfolio, even ICAEW, ACCA and CIMA are rated equivalent to each other in Middle East and UK, however, in pakistan ICAEW is a step above ACCA and CIMA because of ICAP policies.

ACCA is more international, CIMA is more UK based right? Also, is it true to say that CIMA is more management accounting than ACCA?

Which one would you say is the more highly regarded and which one is the toughest to complete?

well u r rite acca specialises in tax n audit and cima in management and financial accounting
as far as difficultulty level is concerned both are difficult but a well prepared student can pass them easily
both are highly regarded within the uk as well as globally
