Hi everyone,
Can anyone tell what are the criteria for disqualification of accountants? For example can bad credit history or bankruptcy or repossession of property affect becoming an accountant?

Thanks

Disqualification occurs after Qualification, your acts and deeds before Qualification will not affect your future career as a qualified practitioner of a professional body as long as you become a good man now; this is something what common sense says not what the legislature of a country says.

Your question at its outset seems to me as you were asking for the affects on your membership of a professional body of your previous acts and deeds(when you were not a member of that body).

If you have committed any Unethical thing after your qualification then you might face bann imposed on you by your professional body such as ACCA(for example on the commitment of insider trading or dealing or falsifying the financial statements of entity under audit).

For further clarification you can consult with any professional body like ACCA or CIMA, they will better guide you.

Regards,

Muhammad Amir.
