امریکہ میں ایک عدالت نے سرچ انجن گوگل کو ہدایت کی ہے کہ وہ یو ٹیوب پر ویڈیو دیکھنے والے تمام صارفین کی تفصیلات فراہم کرے۔

یہ فیصلہ گوگل اور وائیکام نامی کمپنی کے درمیان کاپی رائٹ کی خلاف ورزی کے حوالے سے جاری عدالتی لڑائی کا حصہ ہے۔

ڈیجٹل حقوق کی تنظیم الیکٹرانک فرنٹئیر فاؤنڈیشن یا ای ایف ایف نے اس فیصلے کو ’پرائیویسی حقوق‘ کے لیے دھچکہ قرار دیا ہے۔

ان تفصیلات میں صارفین کے لاگ اِن آئی ڈیز، کمپیوٹر کا آئی پی ایڈریس اور ویڈیو فائل کی تفصیلات شامل ہیں۔ یہ تفصیلات اب وائیکام کو فراہم کی جائیں گی۔

وائیکام نے الزام لگایا ہے کہ یو ٹیوب پر بڑے پیمانے پر کاپی رائٹ حقوق کی خلاف ورزی ہو رہی ہے۔

تاہم عدالت نے وائیکام کی اس درخواست کو مسترد کر دیا کہ گوگل یو ٹیوب کا ’سورس کوڈ‘ ان کے حوالے کر دے۔ عدالت نے کہا کہ یہ کوڈ ایک ’ٹریڈ سیکرِٹ‘ یا تجارتی راز ہے جسے خفیہ رکھا جانا چاہیے۔

تاہم عدالت نہ یہ بھی کہا کہ ان تفصیلات کو وائیکام کے حوالے کرنے کے بارے میں گوگل کے تحفظات قیاس آرائی پر مبنی ہیں۔

اس فیصلے سے وائیکام کو یو ٹیوب کا استعمال کرنے والے لاکھوں صارفین کی انٹرنیٹ پر ترجیحات تک رسائی مل جائے گی۔
