This National Testing Service of pakistan which is responsible for taking professionals exams. And then give scholorships for higher studies. We as an accountant take any benefit from it ? Have you any experience with it ?
Nisar - 31 Jan 2006, 05:12 am
That is good question but i am not sure whether we can take this test and apply for higher studies in overseas.Basically NTS organize GRE tests and requirement of GRE test is 16 years of education now i don't know how they count ACCA in 16 years of education requirement.
(y) Good question.

That is good question that is why i asked :) it here.

There are confirm no scholerships for ACCA untill it is recognized by HEC
Imran Khan - 02 Feb 2006, 05:50 am
My brother has taken the test after MCS and i think ACCA is 1000% better than MCS.And it should be recongized by HEC otherwise what about taking these test on basis of BSc(Hons) Applied Accounting.
Is it recongnized by HEC ?
shahid_fss - 02 Feb 2006, 03:40 pm
Bsc (Hons) is recognized but there is some procedure to get your degree of Bsc (Hons) recognized from HES. Details are available at ACCA sites.

Well actually I made a call to SEC office and they told me that SEC don't provide any financial assistance / scholerships to ACCA students. Now I dont know NTS provides scholerships or not. If it does then I would have to say that SEC is nothing but just a name.

Because: without approval from SEC
ACCA is gaining power
HEC approves it
Govt offices employ ACCAs

It seems nobody cares about SEC anymore.
Nisar - 11 Feb 2006, 01:13 am
SEC is not of concern in this question concern is about getting sholarship from overseas universities.Interestingly i have seen this new thread phd in accountancy
So i think siraj has to search for universities which are offering these kind of courses and offering scholarships thru hec.
And i think hec has just role to pass on these scholarships because these scholarships are not offered by HEC.
Mohsin_Ali - 14 Feb 2006, 02:50 am
So what you say we can sit in GRE tests and can get scholerships?
paki girl - 31 Mar 2006, 02:21 am
My elder sisiter is preparing for GRE test, i'll ask her details.Interesting topci raised sirja..
Nisar - 07 Apr 2006, 07:18 am
What your sister said about it ?
mustafakarim - 18 Jun 2006, 09:09 am
if ACCA is not recognise by HEC then how it is possible for ICAP , ICMAP, PIPFA, ICSP which gives them upto 100% exemption, because ICAP, ICMAP and especially Institute of Corporate Secretary of pakistan which is governed by SECP cannot violate HEC rules. ACCA is equivalent to UK Post Graduate Degree with world wide recognition, this is a different thing that they dont offer scholarships.

Who said that ACCA is not recognized by HEC?
NTS has different requirement that is 16 years of education.
Does it really matter ?
shahid_fss - 18 Jun 2006, 12:09 pm
I could not find it in the list of recognized bodies by HEC. If it is recognized, please provide a link of that.
Maybe I am wrong or maybe they recognize it as a degree or qualification rather than an accounting body.
mustafakarim - 19 Jun 2006, 03:36 am
ACCA recognition can be chek by email to HEC, they will send you a status of ACCA
paki girl - 20 Jun 2006, 10:59 am
I doubt if they even read the email :o

To hell with HEC, NTS, and the likes.

The are nothing but useless rubber stamps and have no BRAINS whatsoever.

ACCA is a globally recognized qualification and ACCA members do not need HEC, NTS, et al to prove its worth.

Many universities in pakistan have already started to accept ACCA as above BSc level degree and many MNC have also given quite lucrative packages to ACCA's.

My advice: Never feel inferior because of such brainless bodies.

HEC is offering some interesting scholarships for the ones who have completed 16 years of study and 1 year in phd program. One of my friend has gone to uk for 6 months with a scholarship amounted to 8 lacs.
He is doing phd there. He has reached there at no cost. Everything is served from scholarship.
So, its a good opportunity if you have are eligible.
