I am interested in an a career as an accountant. Problem is seems like every college has a degree available for this, so how does one choose a school? With so many it's hard to figure it all out. For those interested i'm in the central ohio area.

IMHO then you must survey the market and then survey yourself about the acceptability and compatibility of different fields and then think and rethink about that field which you will choose whatever it will be accounting or non-accounting.It is bit non-serious way to select any field specially accounting :p

CPA is short for Certified Public Accountant. It is popular in America and Australia.

If you have done all the homework and ready to study accounts and interested to get help about selection of school.
1)First check what exactly you need.
2)Try to seek opinion of those people those are already in this field in your area.
3)Which schools are available to you.
4)And which one are most suitable to you.
5)Try to get word of mouth idea about these schools.
6)How much experienced teachers are in these schools.
7)Strength of students.
8)Overall image about these particular schools.
