Hello Everyone,

Could you please tell me that is it a good idea of doing ICAEW after ACCA?
What is more valueable?
What is the main difference between these two?
Or doing Master after ACCA in Finance is better approach?

Ayesha Jabeen.

Where do you want to work? If it's the UK then none of those will help you as much as work experience will, in fact they are often detrimental and suggest you like studying rather than making you a better candidate for a position.

If you want to work anywhere else I don't know I'm afraid

Hello,

Definitely I will gain work experience.I am in UK.
But after ACCA membership, Is doing ICAEW worthwhile?
Because I have heard that it is similar to ACCA with different bodies.
Muhammad Amir,I will really appreciate your opinion on this matter.

Regards,
Ayesha Jabeen.

Dear Ayesha,

As you stated that you are in UK and as far as current condition of UK is concerned i think ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAI, ICAS etc are equivalent to each other this is the similar case in UAE(where all the charter holders of different bodies enjoy same prestige) but for some countries like Pakistan and other Asian countries Local Chartered bodies are a hurdle for ACCAs recognition and there is a slight difference between the qualified of ACCA and local charter holders if i take an example of our ICAP(pakistan) then this ICAP has worked hard to dimminish the raising value of ACCA in market but their all steps to degrade ACCA are declined by local market, but the scenario is different in UK if you see the last 5 to 10 years analysis of ICAEW the passing rate of ICAEW is raising quickly because ACCA has already captured the market of ICAEW because of rigid structure of ICAEW and flexible structure of ACCA from both perspectives, i mean from the perspective of Exam and from the perspective of Practical Experience.

ACCA and CIMA are now the leaders in the new accountancy environment this is only because of their flexible work experience requirement and unlike ICAEW which only recognizes your experience of Audit, ACCA and CIMA has given tens of options to students, In my view if you want to stay in UK in future then it will be futile to start your efforts towards ICAEW because in UK both bodies have same prestige and the members of both bodies can obtain Audit Practice License according to UKs Legislature.

The conclusion is that if you complete your ACCA with the P6(Advanced Taxation) and P7(Advanced Audit and Assurance) then your equal to ICAEW.
