both are different degrees and there no similarity at all.ICMA is pakistan based which is managed by institute of cost and management accountant of pakistan and CIMA is UK besed .ICMA is similer to CA due to not defined passing criteria while in CIMA ,passing criteria is 50% but slightly tough one from ACCA

Thank you tariq for replying to my thread.I have selected ACCA to go with it sounds great to me than any others ICMA or CA.

ICMA (P): Institute of Cost and Management (Pakistan)
CIMA (UK): Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
Both are related to cost and management. Important thing is that if you have done ACCA then you'll get 6 papers exempted form ICMAP and 4 Modules form ICAP while in case of CIMA you'll get all papers exempted from ICMAP and 4 Modules from ICAP. Shows great value to me.
After recent changes in ICMA, its now more like CIMA with fixed critaria and notably last paper which will include whole syllabus just like CIMA. They have also replaced Foundation and Professional with Stages and 1,2 and 3 year post graduate certificates. Papers are now 21 insted of 23.
I say these chages show that ICMA strugled great to compete CIMA in the market.
