Hi All,

I have just started ACCA 1.1 am using Foulks Lynch, which I think is very good. My concern is I work full time. I need some help in figuring out how many hours a week I should be studying for and any helpful study time suggestions. Had a bad begining of the year and just need a bit of motivation.

Any ideas very welcome.

do you job in accountancy relevant field ?
if yes then few hours will be enough
if not then you have to work hard according to your own capability not hour counting.

Yes I work in accountancy, full-time, I kind of just needed an Idea of hours and effective ways to learn, e.g mind maps or stuff like that, its been so long since I had to study anything.

It's all not very tough.You have to start from one point. ... so start ASAP
I would advise daily study even if it is just 30 minutes.
But it depends from student to student .... you can try your old style of study.
Roughly 200 hours for ACCA 1.1 paper is enough ..

Do you have anyother paper to prepare with 1.1 ?

No one can recommend accurate number of hours enough for passing the paper.It all depends on your skills and mind.As you are working in an accounting environment so it will also constitute as your study hours.

..and I remember a guy saying to me a long time ago about studying: "Do a little bit every day, even if it's just half an hour, you will stay more open to learning that way."

I think he's right...not that I followed his advise too closely :lol:

you are right !! we just need to make our habit to study daily.... but now it's exam time so little is not enough.

Benny the banana isn't very diligent, he dances more than he studies, he should follow the example set by all you guys and work a bit harder than he does really.... hehehe
