This will be my first time to sit the non-multiple choice ACCA papers. I think writing your answers with a pencil will be much more convenient, but are we required to use a pen to write out the answers?

Always Use Pen In ACCA Exams, it is a condition of ACCA

ACCA is a global qulification and they do not need to follow ur home country rules so u can use blue as well

We've always been told by tuition providers to use black ink and I think that it was in some examiners reports (the old 3.1 examiner) not to use any other colour, she seemed to hate it when people underlined in red!

However having said that I know someone who always does their paper in pencil and it has never not been marked.

Why take the risk, just do the lot in black pen and you don't annoy the marker!

It's not the matter of problem in sharpening the pencil. In fact, according to my lecturer, answer written in pencils even for calculation answers will not be marked.
But pencils are to be used indeed when you need to draw lines or tables for instance in the presentation of financial reports.

For MCQ, you must only use the black ink pen. nothing else; "cause it is computer which correct F1-F3 paper

Why can't we use blue pen? What's wrong with blue?

Hello, to the best of my knowledge, I think the colour BLACK is necessary as the MCQ answer sheet is 'examined by computer' [It will assume Black marks as your choice]
you May use Black pencil but it fades away a bit so now some bodies prohibit their use, I dont know if Use of Pencils is forbidden in ACCA examinations, but for the reason of computer not making an error (ignoring a faded-black colour of the pencil ) Black Pen is recommended

i think u can use only Black & blue pens
