Whereabouts of ‘Little Buddha’ still unknown

KATHMANDU, March 12 - The whereabouts of Bara’s ‘Little Buddha’, Ram Bahadur Bomjon, who abandoned his meditation under unknown circumstances and disappeared since early Saturday morning, is still unknown, officials said.
The search for him is still on. A large number of security personnel and locals are engaged in the search of Bomjon.
Bomjon’s disappearance got widespread national and international coverage after news reports about his sudden abandonment of the meditation site at Charkose Jhadi of Ratanpur area in Bara district, where he had reportedly been meditating without food and water for the last ten months.
According to Superintendent of Police of Bara distrct, Madhav Prasad Nepal, two groups of security personnel have been deployed to find Bomjon.
An eyewitness said Bomjon left the site at around 3 a.m. Saturday and moved towards the south.
He reportedly left his clothes 40 metres away. The fences surrounding the meditation site had been uprooted.
Earlier yesterday, state-owned Nepal Television reported that Bomjon was seen in the jungle near his meditation site within hours of his disappearance.
It’s still not clear whether he willingly abandoned his nearly 10-month long meditation or was forcefully taken away.
