If the guy wanted to protest so he could have protest peacefully and would have instead resroted to being ABSENT from the ceremony as a way of protest and told his world peacefull.y Now just because of this , the deserving pakistani students who should get the admission to worlds top instuitions will not be liked by scholarship providers like this . Education is our top most need at the moment.

God bless the kid and God bless Pakistan!

Huge round of applause for this student and she just remind me the time when another brillant student arifa kareem from fasialabad achieve award from the hands of Bill gates the youngest ever MCP, hv the command on java and c++, i just shocked what she do its very unforgettable.
this thing shows that how much paki students have the potential . But only problem is in pakistan 80% students dont b able 2 show thier talents otherwise we r 1 of the intelligent and superior nation of de world..

I agree with you Ayesha, I know americans are over biggest enemies and biggest hypocrites but we should deal wisely and not let our emotions become our weakness. Do you think that Ameicans are BLIND???? They dont know that they are doing WRONG??? Ofcourse they know that they are killing our countryman without any reason , they know they are doing injustice!

So if this guy got this much courage so why is he studying there ? Why dont come here in pakistan and study in Sir syed university of engineering and technology?

Think , think , think. if you cant , sorry yout problem

Dear Asad and Ayesha,

Your concerns have their own worth but I disagree with both of you.

Reasons For My Disagreement Are;

-Asad has talked about peaceful protest but in my humble opinion a peaceful protest perhaps, by not attending the ceremony would not have a far reaching consequences, this is because of some demographic factors such as, most of the Pakistanis have no concerns in these matters unless they are highlighted extensively in the press, secondly the American people also have same psychology, the only difference between both societies is that Pakistani people have some educational problem(Illiteracy problem) whereas Americans have no time in thinking about futile matters beside their earning matters and esteem needs unless such matters are highlighted extensively in the press.

-As far as second point made by assad is concern that deserving students will not be asked for scholarship. It is in my opinion wrong, for this we have to see the American society very closely and we have to study the era of 60s and 70s where most of the Non-American people were recruited by the capitalists to serve them, till now their society consists of people from varied faiths and frameworks and the sole responsibility of these people is to serve capitalists and of course fulfill their own needs. So, this incident will not affect the prospective students because Pakistani community is already having their worth in US and they have already proved their worth. In other words USA have to think 100 times before closing scholarships for pakistani talented students.

-Ayesha said that if samad dislikes Americans then why he is studying there; In my humble opinion Ayesha has to study the article again and try to gather more information in this topic because Samad has no where said that he dislikes AMERICANS, although along with other Pakistanis Samad is also one of those who dislike AMERICAN POLICIES(i.e. Government Policies not common people of America). There is no doubt that America is the most favorite place for students to study and there in no doubt that their efforts for their education system are unforgettable but it does not mean that America being a super power will hit each and every Muslim by labeling them as terrorists.

Yes Yes, we should not let our emotions become our weakness. Great thought man great thought.. :D
Assadpervaiz - 04 Jul 2008, 03:38 pm
my point is , now before giving schloarship to less previliged but intellegent pakistani students , americans will think twice and I dont think we should have protested like that.
Assadpervaiz - 04 Jul 2008, 03:44 pm
@Amir : We dont have to look at 60s or 70s now or the way americans got literate . Thats not relevant to us , whats relevant to us is that we want to get ourself educated that's it. As far as Pakistani student proving there worth and america knows it ! huh ? What are we talking about ?

We should check our rankings with indians and chinese and latins and spanish and georgians. And by the way where are those talented students ? How are they serving our nation ? or are they serving there own interests?

As far as its concerned that why samad should be studying in american , If you really think that this protest is going to make 1% difference to our benefit then we will have to wait and see.

Dear Mr Amir,

Thanks for recommending me to read the article AGAIN.

By Americans, definitely I meant GOVERNMENT not general public as they are of no concern here.

Regards,
Ayesha.

Muhammad Amir - 05 Jul 2008, 04:05 pm
I have already said in my post that your opinions have their own worth but I disagreed with both of you and told you the reason of my disagreement.

He has protested on the policies of American Government NOT on the educational policies of America, that is why he said that he will continue his studies at Harvard in September.

In my opinion his way to protest was very right indeed.
