i'm going to take 2.4, 2.5 and 2.6.
i am thinking of taking another subject, but i don't know which one to choose.
please give a brief explanation for each subjects: 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4
thx..

It should depend on your personal suitability. I think you should skip 3.4 paper because its not going to be included in new syllabus.

2.4 and 2.5 have both got very large syllabus.
You should probably just take those three and then take the option papers later. You probably shouldnt take the audit paper until you have taken 2.6 and decided whether you like that aspect of accountancy.

Dear everyone,
For me, I'll rather choose 3.4&3.3 because I rather pass my ACCA as soon as possible because the Annual Subscription fee is incresing every year and no matter which paper you choose finally you also get a same certificate with other people. For my own opinion, as long as you graduate faster then you're the winner rather then taking callenging paper and still stuck in the ACCA examination!
THINK ABOUT IT MANS!

So will you stop paying anual sub once you have passed?

Welll i had the same combination as yours i took the 3 papers 2.4 , 2.5 , 2.6 and wanted to do an optional but was confused whether to go for it or not .. So an ACCA member advised me and told me not to spend alot of time on the optional paper but attempt with a little of studying and i did that and passed
2.4 AND 2.5 need alot alot of studying so spend most of your time on them and give a week to each of 2.6 and 3.4
But now i am confused between 3.1 and 3.3 to take along with the core Subjects .. i am more into numeracy so what do you guys think ?
sheba - 25 Feb 2007, 08:42 pm
Mahmood, I am facing the same decision. I am doing 3.2 and need another core paper and I done 3.1 in Dec but didn't pass it. I was thinking about retaking it but I am put off because of the fact that it has an incredibly low passrate (the worst passrate in the range!) By contast 3.3 Perf. Mangm. has a relatively higher passrate & peaople say it is easier to pass. The syllabus content is quite nice......... have a look at the syllabus n study guide for each. You say you are a numerical person so I think you should definitely do 3.3 since this invloves quite a lot of number-chrunching. Over half the paper is computational! But 3.1 is a dull n dry subject which involves no maths, apart from one simple Q on calculating materiality.
Watermonkey, don't make such a mistake: You won't pass all four like this. Don't compare papers 2.4-2.6 to the first half of ACCA because the first half were not as difficult as these, trust me. I was always a well-prepared student who passed first time with high marks, but my marks for the final few Part 2 papers was much lower to the rest of the papers. Part 3 is very difficult and requires careful time management and Q practice, which you cannot do when you have such hard papers to prepare for in Part 2. Have a look at the passrates for 2.4 and 2.6 to reassure yourself on what I am talking abt.

2.4,2.5 and 2.6 are enough papers for one attempt i can't say any thing about 2.4 and 2.5 but when talking about 2.6 it's really a challenging paper of whole part 2 pay your attention to these three papers and leave optional module for next attempt because 2.4,2.5 and 2.6 are very different papers then those of the 2.1,2.2and 2.3
