i am having problem with the difference b/w them coz in MCQs the margin or markup %ag is given and one has to find the profit

This seems like a text book question.

Kindly refer to your text book for help, then ask your friends, then ask your teacher, then ask the internet.

Otherwise u r frankly wasting your time in unefficient techniques.

It means asking in a forum is at the last in your priority list. Well, we are here to discuss things. To get help or to help others. If someone can help him then he/she should help him instead of giving him nonsense suggestions which he is very much aware of, and has very likely tried. . It would also help other members in grasping the concept.

You are right when you say we are here to discuss things, but such things that we ourselves cannot figure out for ourselves. Otherwise students will never learn. They will always be dependent.

We are here to help those who inspite of trying have not been able to find the answer, instead of helping lazy ppl.

I think you didn't read my post correctly. Open your mind and read it again, and then try to analyze things and post again. Just consider these lines properly:
