Well, in my humble opinion here are lot of opportunities for fresh graduates. Once he will enter united kingdom he will be able to get internship/job with less effort.
And second part of the question; would he be able to come uk... its difficult for me to answer but i know you must have solid reason to come uk and job is not a solid reason.
In india accountants are very well honored then why your brother is not intersted in working within country?
prashant - 24 Sep 2006, 12:10 pm
thanks for the reply.
reason being
there is a lot of competetion in india especially in accounting feild from ca , icwa ,cfas,etc..you will be surprised to know that indian chartered accountancy institute dosent even give a single paper exemption to acca students i.e. even after completion of all acca papers.they are so strict .moreover if later if he thinks of starting any practice he would not be able to get any the audit license in order to practice in india.
thirdly after investing in pounds you work for peanuts i.e. without any financial gain would be unreasonable.

It means ACCA is degraded in India more than Pakistan.
In pakistan situation is not that bad.
book - 24 Sep 2006, 12:38 pm
ACCA is comparable to any accountancy qualification worldwide.
If india refuses to accept it, its their loss.
book - 24 Sep 2006, 12:39 pm
After all it is the largest accountancy body in the world.

I wonder if someone can complete Bsc Honors from Oxford without any work experience. Ever since I have read that this degree is based on work related practice.
Can anyone confirm this?

indain chartered accountancy institute boasts of about having 120000 members approximately with about 300000 students around india .so you can say it is a regional giant in south asia it also boasts of having comparable level of accountancy students as any large association of the world.they have monopoly over the awarding of practice licence in india.it is only icaew of england whom they have some agreement in regards to practice in india infact they also have to clear some papers .in order to maintain their coveted status . acca is not given any weightage . the indain accounting ,taxation and company laws are totally different . it is now that they are trying to bring in line with international requirements like ias and vat ,etc.their articleship experiance plus more no. papers groom students for the indain economy.artcleship one has to do after pe-2 and thats compulosry with papers.thats what makes it harder unlike acca where str can be filled any time before , during or even after the course completion.plus their is a maximum time limit for course completion unlike 10 year rule of acca.[/i]

All this does not make the indian chartered accountancy any good?

it must be hot air to u but what is true is true.
you know acca gives 7 paper exemption to indian ca (currently) and i have even seen 8 papers as well but u know exemption criteria changes with the new syllabus and qualification .this is when ca dosent even give one paper exemption to acca .this is infact when indian ca students have studied different accounting, taxation and law. in icaew indian ca gets to do only the final stage.it is well recognised in australia , canada , uk basically commonwealth
countries . it has good market in gulf and african countries.in underdeveloped and developing world it has a good say.
indian ca has to do the finals of kenyan cpa to get registered as auditor in kenya.needless to say about small countries like nepal ,bhutan ,bangladesh, etc.
it is has also say in the south east asian fedration of accountants.except u.s. in the developed world.which speaks english.
the international recognition is not as strong as acca but still it is there .saying its hot air is undermining them.

Suppose you open your own accountancy body and receive 1 expemption from the ACCA but dont give even 1 exemption to the ACCA, that does not mean that the accountancy body is better than ACCA.

thats why me and my two younger brothers chose acca my dear friend and the goodness is that they are remaining with only one paper to go.
i hope now you can feel the cool gale/breeze.
